Vision and mission

The program of the Center of Democracy and Human Rights in Kurdistan is based on International human rights like; Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948, International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) in 1966, The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination 1965, The International Convention on Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women in 1979, The Paris Declaration in 1981,

The International Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel (commonly known as the United Nations Convention against Torture (UNCAT) in 1984, Declaration on the Right to Development in 1986, Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1988 and The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

Goals

1- The center is aimed to introduce Kurds and their social, and cultural rights. Activities of the center are according to international resolutions and conventions.

2- Destruction of nature and environmental damages which sometimes happen due to the acts of security and governmental agencies are other topics that the center keeps its focus on.

3- The center’s main attention is on political arrestments in Iranian Kurds and keeps international organizations updated regarding them.

4- Except the Kurdish rights, the center is also focusing on Christian, Armenians, and other ethnics and their rights.

5- The center has its own strategy to initiate an independent human rights organization. All the reports that have been and will be published by the center are to respects human rights and publishing and violation of human rights.

6- The center cooperates with international organizations to eliminate any kind of violation of Kurdish rights in Iran.

7- The center also will broadcast any kind of violation of Social, women, child rights.

The Center of Democracy and Human Rights in Kurdistan was founded in 2016. It was working under the name of Nisan News and Maf News for four years before 2016.

Iranian Kurds work together voluntarily for publishing any violation of human rights.

Mafnews website was founded by a group of students supported by Kurmanc Institute in Urmia University in Iran, then Maf News began its cooperation with the Democracy Center for Human Rights in Kurdistan.

The Center provides news related to violation of Human rights in Three languages; Persian, English and German.

Maf News and the Center of Democracy and Human Rights in Kurdistan has no political and Partisan affiliation and are just working on any incidents regarding Human Rights.
