Iran detains two activists in Kermanshah
MAFNEWS – Two activists from Javanrood and Gilan gharb in Kurdish province of Kermanshah were arrested by Iranian intelligence agency known as Etelaat on May 21 over connection with “Kurdish (opposition parties,” Mafnews correspondent reported.
According to the Center of Democracy and Human Rights in Kurdistan Osman Jalali was arrested by Etelaat on May 21 (2018) and was transferred to an unknown location.
“Family of Jalali were told that ‘he is accused of cooperation with Kurdish (opposition) parties,” Mafnews reporter said.
According to the Mafnews reporter Jalali was member of a Kurdish opposition parties in Iraqi Kurdistan Region for several months.
“Osman (Jalali) joined a Kurdish party in Iraqi Kurdistan several years ago, but he has not done any political activity since he came back,” his family told Mafnews. Mehdi Emam Abaasi, another activist from Gilan Gharb was arrested by Etellat in May 21. Abbasi was accused of “cooperation with Kurdish (opposition) parties” as well.
Dozens of political activists have been charged with connection with Kurdish opposition parties so far. The detained activists get trialed based on accusations such as “propagandizing against Iranian state and enmity with god.”
