Iran raised pressure on labor activists
MAF NEWS – At least 19 labor activists from Sanandaj have been summoned and interrogated “for defending the rights of workers’’ by Iranian intelligence agency known as Etelaat in last two weeks, Maf news reported.
According to the Center of Democracy and Human Rights in Kurdistan, Shadman Bani Bashar and Obeid Khaleqi were summoned to the Etelaat of Sanandaj on Sunday.
“This is the second time that Bani Bashar is being summoned and interrogated for participating Newroz,” Maf news said, “Khaleqi was also charged with same accusation.”
Mahmoud Salehi, a prominent Iranian Kurdish activist was also arrested in Oct while he was in hospital for kidney Dialysis.
More than 15 other labor rights’ activists have been summoned and questioned by Etelaat since October.
