Khorasan’s court issues arrest warrant for Kurdish poet while frees another Kurd on bail
MAF NEWS – The court of Iranian province of Khorasan Razavi freed Mansour Farajzadeh on bail and issued arrest warrant for Alireza Sepahi Laeen on late November, Maf News reported.
According to the Center of Democracy and Human Rights in Kurdistan, Mansour Farajzadeh who was imprisoned due to celebrating Kurdistan Region’s Referendum on September 25, was freed on bail on late November.
“Farajzadeh is now free temporarily until his trial,” Maf news reported.
Meanwhile, the court of Kalat in Khorasan Razavi issued arrest warrant for Kurdish poet and journalist Alireza Sepahi Laeen on late November.
According to Maf News, Sepahi Laeen was accused of ‘‘publishing falsehood and insulting public officials’’ and summoned after publishing an article called ‘‘Ignorance is better than flood.’’
Sepahi have been summoned and jailed many times. Last time he was arrested and accused of “Having tie with Kurdish (opposition) parties” in 2011.
About one and half million Kurds known as Khorasani Kurds live in Iranian provinces of Khorasan Razavi and Khorasan Shomali.
Khorasani Kurds were exiled from Urmia and surrounding areas, Northwest of Iran to Khorasan during Safavid in 17th century.
