Saeid Shirzad in the 12th Month of Detention without any Trial
Maf News: After 12 months of detention, Saeid Shirzad has not been tried yet.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), despite repeated requests, this prisoner’s solicitor has not yet been allowed to study his case, which is against the trial rule in Iran.
The civil activist has twice refused to attend the hearing, to protest against this issue, but his solicitor still is deprived of having access to the case or visiting his client.
Saeid Sherzad was arrested in his office at Tabriz Refinery on June 2014 and first was taken to Evin Prison and later he was exiled to Rajai Shahr prison because of complaining about lack of basic features, and pursuing prisoners’ problems, although his trial had not been held yet and he was in detention.
Saeid Sherzad, had been arrested in 21st August 2012, too when he had gone to Ahar, in East Azerbaijan to aid the people after the earthquake, and was released on the bail after spending 19 days in detention.
This children’s rights activist, who is active regarding education for worker and street children, and educational problems of political prisoners’ children, is held in ward 1 of Rajai Shahr prison, along with non-political prisoners and some dangerous criminals.Bottom of Form
